Hi,my customer have 3/8" nc bolt screwed in an aluminium bloc manifold.
Is there a chart that exist to find the good torque to apply to the bolt to prevent stripping the aluminium ?
Tanks to every body that can help !!!

There is no quick and easy answer to that question, primarily because there are almost always many variables that can affect the answer(s).

I have found that the best way to know (to some degree of accuracy) what torque would cause the weaker threads to shear is to physically torque samples of the intended screws (in the intended mating material) until failure. After doing this many times, you can estimate a safe torque specification by multiplying the average failure torque by, let's say 50%. Make sure that if your will be using a threadlocking compount or a lubricant, that it is used during your tests, as well.
