We are looking for a sheet metal parts & die design (Progressive, Compound dies etc) software having deep draw capabilities. Can someone suggest me a good software for this purpose. I've seen Autoform & Pam series from ESI group but needs your valuable advice in this regard.

TIA,

Mudasser.

I have a prefference but cannot necessarily say so, in the interest of non-commercialism. Those are both widely used incrmental Sheet Metal Stamping simulation software.

It is important that when looking at these types of software that you consider the ease of use, speed, and reliability. After all GIGO and if the somftware is too complex to use then the reliability of the results is no good. Even if people try to argue accuracy, an accurate tool is the one that I can operate (i.e. laser knives are more accurate than other knives but if you can't operate it without the help of 15 Phd's what good is it?)

Contact me via the private message function (a the top of the forum if you would like more information).

Dear friend,
From my knowledge, i will suggest to go for a software having an user friendly GUI and a well known robust solver. (Of course Price is another factor). Even though user friendliness isdepends on user, from my experience with several simulation softwares, i feel eta/Dynaform (solver is the very famous - LS Dyna) is having a good user friendly GUI and the notations and the descriptions are in the language of Tool Designers. This helps any non CAE Engineers to work on it.
